Post about current tropical activity or whatever's going on in the tropics. If you have a hurricane story, you can post that here too.
Right now its June 29th (1 o'clock in the morning) Tropics are quiet. Little activity. Strong upper level winds are preventing tropical development. Only 1 tropical cyclone thus far: Tropical Storm Alberto (Now long gone).

I'm smack-dab in the middle of the US where tornadoes eat your soul if you're caught in one.

Eat your soul, eh? Hmm...disturbing.
We get tornaders here in Florida, but they're usually F-0 to F-1. I got close to seeing one a couple of times.
One, we were driving up to Central Florida on I-95, and there were severe thunderstorms in the area. This was when I was younger. I recall seeing a large funnel cloud forming right down the road. We passed right underneath it. Hoo boy. Scary. My grandma says it touched down right near the road, but I have no memory of that.
2. This happened this past year. I had just gotten home from school, and severe thunderstorms were looming about. The bottom of the clouds were all wispy, and that ominous green tint had formed beneath them (Green tints are a signal that these storms are tornado-capable). While I never saw it, there were reports that a tornado had touched down really close to my neighborhood.
And I had no idea tropical systems ever reached the UK. Hmm...interesting.

Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ernesto is bearing down on the Sunshine state. Its forecast to barrel right through my area...so, ok. I admit. I enjoy hurricanes every so often. Weak ones. School's cancelled for Tuesday, and Wednesday is still pending (I have a feeling it'll be cancelled as well). Its been a quiet season...about time mother nature through a wrench into a rather boring lifestyle. Go to school 5 days a week, do homework, go to sleep, wake up, yadda yadda yadda. Snoresville.
Anywho, since its relatively weak, we may or may not lose power. And if we do, it'll be brief. 3 days at max. I'm not even slightly worried about damage; we made it through Andrew and Wilma virtually unscathed (I'm referring to my house). So yeah. Thats the story.

Double post! OMG!
Ernesto was a dissapointment. A big fat dissapointment. School was cancelled for two days, to say the least. Now there are two depressions in the Atlantic, which may stir things up a bit some time from now.

yea Ernesto appered to be threat even though people were panicking and gas lines were going around blocks.
Also there is a nother one the has appered in the Atlantic but is no threat to anyone because its going to go to Antartica or something like that.
