Wow. The previews look AWESOME. For those that don't know, heres the plot.
The movie Poseidon: Its about a luxury cruise liner somewhere in a very remote part of the world, "A thousand miles away" or something like that it said. So anyway, apparently its a fabulous cruise until a rogue wave crashes into the ship, completely capsizing it. People are throw about as all hell is unleashed. In the preview, you see shots of people being flying about as it capsizes, and it slowly filling with water as people nearly drown in cramped, claustrophobic spaces. It then shows another scene, showing the upside-down ship from an underwater view as the lights flicker off. Awesome? Yes. Terrifying? Quite. Another box-office hit? Well, it seems likely.
This is the 2nd time the movie was remade. The fist was an old film with the same setup. It was remade again more recently, but instead of a wave, the capsizing is caused by terrorists. This new one seems to be by far the best yet.
Also, Amused to Death, I'm curious as to if its coming out in the U.K. too?

Also, Amused to Death, I'm curious as to if its coming out in the U.K. too? I've not heard about it being released, though since i stopped doing Film Studies, i'm out of the loop Normally films are a week/2 weeks behind being released here, so i'd have to find out about a release date.

Thats 'cause Spielburg wasn't behind the wheel of the others Doesn't always mean that it's going to be a hit though - even Tarantino, Hitchthingy, Burton et al have made some horrorific films

Poseidon Review
Ok, I saw Poseidon today. Heres my review for it.
Within 15 minutes after it starts, the action begins. The wave crashes into the ship, etc. The special effects were top-notch. As it goes, its about a group of people trying to get to the bottom of the ship. But remember: Its capsized, so the top of the ship is underwater, and the bottom is on the surface. I'm not gonna ruin the story, but overall, it was pretty good.
The one error that they made in making the film was the lack of character developement. The group of people, for example. The movie only slightly explains their story, and you kinda don't know who anyone is. The acting was good though.
Overall, I give the movie Poseidon, a great 8/10.
It was pretty scary for me, since something like that almost happened, in reality, to me. But...thats for another time.

From that it reminds me of "The Perfect Storm", which was the worst film i've ever seen I'm intrigued by this though, if/when it gets a UK release, i'll go check it out

Yeah, I didn't like the perfect storm either.
I thought it was ok until they all died at the end. Even though it was based on a true story.

I never saw it but i think that "the day after tomarrow" was a little over board although it was a good movie.

You mean the one where terrorists are the cause of the ship's demise?
