Ah, a truly heart-wrenching tale of the illegal smuggling of diamonds out of South Africa and into...whuzzit Libya? Somehwhere, and the civil war occuring in the countries all over southern Africa.
Here's how it goes. In south africa, an organization of rebels are trying to take over the country. The government is unable to completely stop them, as towns burn to the ground, women, children, men, all are shot down mercilessly, and violence is abound. A true hell, even in the eyes of one of the rebel lieuteneants.
The rebel forces abduct any children they find alive and press-gain them into military service. They are taught how to wield automatic weapons; they are taught to shoot to kill. The rebel forces corrupt their innocent minds, and use them as weapons of war.
Solomen is a man who works to find diamonds in a river. When he finds a very large, VERY rare, priceless pink diamond, he tries to hide it. He is almost found and killed, but a battle breaks out, and he buries the diamond for later and escapes the premises.
The story evolves as it goes, but Solomen's son is one of the abducted children.
It's hard to fully explain it, but it's a true movie that I can say has "Chills! Thrills! And Romance!" in it.
Oh, and girls, Leonardo DiCaprio is in it.
I give the twisty, violent, tear-jerking tale of civil war, betrayal, and love a 9/10. Go see it. NOW.

It's pretty sad. I remained dry-eyed throughout "The Notebook" but Blood Diamond fogged me up pretty good.
Very actiony too. Worth renting.
